Instructions

A step-by-step overview of the Neuro Board Review application is provided below detailing all major features and controls.

For additional assistance, please feel free to Contact Us.

 1.   Your available card decks are listed on the Menu screen. The Sampler card deck is included, but you can purchase additional decks by clicking the Content Options button.

Click a card deck to begin reviewing it.

On the scoreboard screen for each card deck, there are three groupings of flash cards as indicated by the tabs across the bottom of the screen. They are Full Deck, Board Favorites, and By Keyword. Click the Full Deck tab at the bottom of the screen. The Full Deck tab includes all of the cards in the selected card deck.

Your progress through each of these tabbed groupings is tracked and saved individually for each card deck. This means, that you can move between the tabs at any time without losing your progress in the other tab. It also means that when you close the app and later return, your progress in each grouping in every card deck is still there. For example, you might be only halfway through the Full Deck, but you have nearly completed the Board Favorites.

2.   Optional: To reset your progress in a particular tab, click the Reset button located in the upper right corner or shake the phone vigorously. After a confirmation question, this action will shuffle the cards in that tab, clear the scoring & flags, and reset the timing when applicable.

3.   Click the View Remaining button under the Not Completed pile label to begin answering flash card questions.

Note: The button displays how many cards you have answered out of the total available.

 4.   Read the question and the answers. Scroll down if needed. More answers or illustrations may be further down the page. Use standard pinching gestures to zoom in and out of the page.

 5.   Optional: You can skip the question if you wish to answer it later.

Note: Any time spent reading the question still counts towards your total time.

 6.   Choose an answer and click the corresponding lettered button at the bottom of the screen.

 7.   The card will flip to the Answer side. The bar at the top will be red and display "Incorrect" or green and display "Correct." The text of the correct answer will appear in green on the page. Review the page contents using zooming and scrolling as needed. The selected answer, the correct answer, cards remaining and percent correct (where applicable) are displayed on the bottom center of the screen.

 8.   Optional: You can toggle the "Flag" button in the upper right on and off to add or remove the card from the Flagged group. Flagged cards, whether answered correctly or incorrectly, are marked for later review.

 9.   Optional: On the bottom bar of the Answer side of the card, you can use the Question button to flip the card over if you wish to review the question content.

 10.   Click the Next Card button to advance. Optional: Click the Scoreboard button to return to the scoreboard screen.

 11.   When all of the cards have been answered, the Next Card button is replaced with a Done button, which gives you the option of returning to the scoreboard screen where you can view your scoring and timing statistics, or resetting the cards to begin again.

 12.   Optional: From the Scoreboard screen, you can choose Correct, Incorrect, or Flagged categories from the Completed pile. Clicking these categories will allow you to either move those cards back into the View remaining category (in the Not Completed pile) to be answered again, or you can choose to review the cards as originally answered without affecting current scoring or timing stats.

 13.   The Board Favorites tab operates exactly like the Full Deck tab, only you are answering a selected subset of the Full Deck cards that should be studied carefully by those taking board exams.

 14.   The By Keyword tab operates similarly to the other two. Each card is tagged with keywords that pertain to the content of the card. By choosing a keyword from the full listing of keywords, you can select only the cards that have been marked with that keyword.

Note: Only progress through the cards of the currently selected keyword is saved.

 15.   Optional: Click the "i" button when available to access various text contents including Overview, Credits, Legal, and How to Use topics.
